June 25, 2018
Heidi O’Donnell Eastman has been an educator for 23 years. Her tenure in education includes instructional leadership and curriculum design. Her award winning curriculum and courses have been recognized and taught internationally.
She is the Creator of the Port to Port Program, a study of the story of globalization. Port to Port uses Placed-based Experiential Learning to uncover the implications of the natural and human resources and ideas which flow into and out of ports!
She’s conducted her Port to Port program in Switzerland, Estonia, Ireland, Scotland and at its origins in New Bedford, MA, where, when not traveling, she is a Master Teacher at The Global Learning Charter Public School and teaches a range of history classes.
Daughter of a Merchant Marine, world travel, ships and sea are a part of her DNA. She grew up in Provincetown on Cape Cod, where sailing out of the Provincetown port was an all summer affair.
As an artist and painter, her work is inspired by the places she travels as well as the sea coast where she lives with her architect husband in Westport Point, MA.
